Yogurtland to expand retail network in Middle East with new franchise deal

RBR Staff Writer Published 30 January 2014

Yogurtland has entered into a multi-unit franchise development agreement with Dubai-based Retail is Detail to develop the brand in the Middle East region.

The first store under the agreement will open in the Dubai Mall this week, with additional locations expected to open over the next three to five years in Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Oman and the UAE.

Retail is Detail chief executive officer Mouza Al Abbar said, "The Dubai Mall is the largest shopping mall in the world, making it the ideal location to debut the Yogurtland brand in the Middle East. Mall shoppers are looking for a better dessert option, and we know Yogurtland is the perfect solution."

In addition to the international expansion, Yogurtland is planning to focus on its growth in existing domestic markets such as Dallas-Ft. Worth, Houston, Austin, Atlanta, Portland, Seattle, and the Tri-State Area surrounding New York City.

Yogurtland has grown more than 160% over the past three years. In 2013, the company opened an impressive 76 stores and is further looking to have more than 370 outlets by the end of 2014.
