Starbucks launches ‘Gift Cards’ in Mainland China

International coffee chain Starbucks has introduced ‘Starbucks Gift Cards’ at select locations in Mainland China for the Lunar New Year.

The new Starbucks Cards can be purchased in three unique design themes - Thank You, Kind Regards and Happy Lunar New Year.

Commenting on the gifts card launch, Starbucks China president Belinda Wong said the Lunar New Year is a time when family and friends gather to meet, connect and share stories.

"The Card is a convenient way for customers to recognize special people in their lives in a meaningful way and give the gift of Starbucks® coffee. It's the perfect gift for this, and any, occasion, and can be used at our stores in Mainland China year-round," Wong added.

Starbucks noted that the Starbucks Card has become a symbol of appreciation and human connection around the world.

Starbucks is the largest coffeehouse company in the world, with 20,891 stores in 62 countries, including 13,279 in the US, 1,324 in Canada, 989 in Japan, 851 in China, 806 in the UK, 556 in South Korea, 377 in Mexico, 291 in Taiwan, 206 in the Philippines, 179 in Turkey, 171 in Thailand, and 167 in Germany.
