RBR Staff Writer Published 23 April 2013

New Orleans-based franchise company, Smoothie King Franchises, plans to open 25 new outlets in St. Louis over the next five years and additional 27 outlets through July 2013.

The store expansion program is part of the company's aim to expand across St. Louis and the proposed outlets will be opened through franchise route.

Smoothie King Global CEO Wan Kim said the company continues to experience tremendous growth, with 27 new US openings planned through July 2013.

"We are confident that our brand has great potential for further development in St. Louis and look forward to building a stronger presence in the area," Kim added.

Further, Smoothie King plans to add 1,000 new franchised and corporate locations domestically over the next five years.

As part of international expansion, the chain intends to expand in Korea, Singapore and Malaysia, with 50 new stores planned in South Korea and 10 in Singapore in 2013.

Smoothie King Franchises offers guests the original nutritional fresh-blended smoothie and healthy retail products, including sports beverages, energy bars, healthy snacks, vitamin supplements, herbs, minerals and other sports nutrition products.

The chain currently has more than 600 outlets operating in 32 states, the Caymans, Singapore and the Republic of Korea.
