Pizza Fusion to expand UAE footprint with 25 new outlets

RBR Staff Writer Published 03 April 2013

American pizza restaurant chain Pizza Fusion has announced that its master franchisor Samir Group has signed an agreement with Food Fusion Est. to open about 25 restaurants across the UAE.

Under the deal, Food Fusion Est will open 10 new outlets over the next five years and five more outlets the following five years.

Upon completion of opening first 15 outlets, Food Fusion Est has the option to open an additional 10 Pizza Fusions in the remaining term of the deal.

Commenting on the deal, Food Fusion Est president Amir Mahasseny said, "Pizza Fusion targets a niche market for health and environmentally conscious customers offering a ground floor opportunity that I believe has exponential growth potential far outpacing that of the broad restaurant industry."

Food Fusion's agreement takes advantage of Samir Group's aggressive plans to open 40 Middle East locations over the next five years.

The announcement of Pizza Fusion's UAE expansion arrives in the midst of pending merger with Unique Pizza and Subs. The companies are anticipated to close upon fulfilling the terms of the merger agreement.

Pizza Fusion's UAE expansion is part of a broader international franchising trend, as many successful American restaurant franchises expand throughout the Middle East.
