Pie Five Pizza to open 13 restaurants in Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma

Pie Five Pizza, a subsidiary of Pizza Inn Holdings, has signed new franchise development agreements with Big Cheese and Simmonds Restaurant Management to expand the brand presence into Midwest.

As part of the deals, Big Cheese, owned by Jim Stevens, will open seven outlets in Wichita, Kansas, and Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Simmonds Restaurant Management will open six Pie Five outlets in Omaha and Lincoln, Nebraska, restaurantnews reported.

Pie Five currently operates 10 outlets in Texas and one in Utah. This latest development in Omaha, Tulsa and Wichita markets brings the total announced franchise restaurants under contract to 85 in Florida, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, North Carolina, Florida, Texas, Utah and Virginia.

Both Stevens and Simmonds expect to open first outlets in next six months.

Stevens currently operates 25 Applebee's outlets in Kansas and Omaha, Nebraska. He also franchises seven Jason's Delis in the Kansas City area.

Pizza Inn Holdings is an owner, franchisor and supplier of a system of restaurants operating domestically and internationally. It franchises approximately 300 outlets and directly owns and operates 14 restaurants.
