Marco's Pizza plans to have 500 outlets by 2014

RBR Staff Writer Published 22 May 2013

American pizza restaurant chain Marco's Pizza is planning to operate 500 stores by 2014.

The Toledo-based chain currently operates in 29 states, the Bahamas and Panama, with more than 200 in development. The move is part of the chain's strategy to expand retail network by 2014.

Marco's Pizza CEO Jack Butorac said, "We have over 350 stores open now, and our plan is to become the fourth largest pizza chain."

With its dedication to authentic Italian pizza made with fresh dough, never-frozen vegetables and real cheese, Marco's Pizza has been elevating its profile in the pizza delivery segment of the restaurant industry.

More than 40% of Marco's franchisees are former franchisees of other national pizza chains.

Marco's Pizza opened its first Marco's Pizza store in 1978. Its menu features specialty pizzas, toppings, free crust toppers and sides.
