Krispy Kreme to open first outlet in Delhi

Published 13 December 2013

Krispy Kreme, an international retailer of premium-quality sweet treats, will open its first store in the city of Delhi in India on 14 December 2013.

The new doughnut cafe will be the first of 35 planned Krispy Kreme stores in Northern India. All the outlets will be operated by the chain's new franchise partner, Bedrock Foods Pvt., Ltd.

The outlet will be located on the first floor Select City Walk mall, and will offer an assortment of 16 doughnut varieties, including
Krispy Kreme's signature Original Glazed doughnut, along with a wide range of signature beverages including coffees, teas and iced drinks.

A notable element of the new store will be Krispy Kreme's famous Doughnut Theater viewing area, which will enable customers to watch doughnut varieties being cooked, filled, and topped.

Krispy Kreme president International Jeff Welch said," With our initial launch in Bangalore this past January, we have seen great acceptance of Krispy Kreme and our signature products by the Indian consumer."

"The opening this week of our first store in Delhi broadens Krispy Kreme's reach within India to the key North India market."

Bedrock Foods Pvt., Ltd managing director Manpreet Gulri said that the doughnuts in the Delhi store would be made with an eggless recipe, to suit the needs of Indian consumers.
