RBR Staff Writer Published 03 October 2013

DineEquity, the parent company of Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar and International House of Pancakes (IHOP) restaurant, has unveiled its first outlet at Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta international airport.

The new 'IHOP Express' outlet is located in the main terminal food court before the security checkpoints, and is spread across approximately 3,000ft² of retail space with a seating capacity for 120 guests.

The outlet also features a 'Grab and Go' section, where guests can purchase some of their favorite IHOP menu items to enjoy during their flight. It offers wide variety of menu items, including the classic IHOP favorites, besides a selection of beer and wine.

IHOP Express is run by franchisee Global Concessions (GCI), which has over 12 brand concepts.

International House of Pancakes interim president Julia Stewart said the 'IHOP Express' marks an important step in the company's continued expansion into non-traditional venues like airports and colleges.

"While we are starting at the top with the world's busiest airport, we hope this will be the first of many airport locations to come, throughout the country and around the world," Stewart added.

Based in Glendale, California, DineEquity operates 3,500 restaurants under the Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar and IHOP brands across 18 countries.
