Corner Bakery Cafe inks new development deal with East Bay Restaurants

RBR Staff Writer Published 17 January 2014

Corner Bakery Cafe has signed a new multi-unit restaurant development agreement with East Bay Restaurants to open eight new restaurants in the Sacramento area.

The first outlet under the deal will open in 2014, with the remaining sites slated to open over the next five years.

This latest deal with East Bay Restaurants is part of Corner Bakery Cafe's aim to more than double its US footprint in the next three years.

East Bay Restaurants COO Harsh Ghai said, "Corner Bakery Cafe is taking the restaurant industry by storm and stepping up the game to a whole new level which we believe is unmatched in the fast-casual, quick-serve and casual dining restaurant segments."

Corner Bakery Cafe currently has more than 160 company-owned and franchised locations in 17 states and Washington, DC.

Corner Bakery Cafe Franchise Sales vice president Gregg Koffler said this final agreement completes 12 Area Development Agreements for 2013.

"Sacramento is the perfect place to continue our expansion plans as the brand looks to numerous new locations and even more fans on the West Coast," Koffler added.
