B&G Foods acquires TrueNorth brand from DeMet's Candy

B&G Foods, a US-based manufacturer, seller and distributor of branded shelf-stable foods, has acquired the TrueNorth nut cluster brand from DeMet’s Candy Company, a producer of candy and snack products.

TrueNorth nut clusters are made of freshly roasted nuts, a dash of sea salt and just a hint of natural sweetness.

TrueNorth varieties include - Almond Pecan Crunch, Chocolate Nut Crunch and Cashew Crunch.

B&G Foods president and DavidWenner said: "TrueNorth, which offers a 100% natural snacking experience, is the first addition to our snacks portfolio since we entered the category last October by acquiring the New York Style, Old London, JJ Flats and Devonsheer brands."

B&G Foods produces and markets a broad range of food products including jams, salad dressings, hot cereals, maple syrup, jellies and fruit spreads, spices, salsas, canned meats and beans, marinades, taco shells and kits, seasonings, wine vinegar, hot sauces, molasses, and Mexican-style sauces.

The company markets its products under as the brands of B&G, Joan of Arc, Ac'cent, Brer Rabbit, B&M, Ortega, Emeril's, Cream of Wheat, Cream of Rice, Grandma's Molasses, and Las Palmas among others.

It also distributes household products under Static Guard and Kleen Guard brands.
